Admissions at Newmann-Godful AFH LLC
At Newmann-Godful AFH LLC, we understand that finding the right home for yourself or a loved one is an important and emotional decision. Our admissions process is designed to be supportive, clear, and welcoming. We accept both Medicaid-funded residents and private-pay clients.
Medicaid Placement
Medicaid clients receive care services funded through Washington State’s long-term care program. Eligibility is determined by the state and typically involves an assessment and care coordination through a case manager. DSHS determines the rates for Medicaid placements
Private Pay Admissions
Private-pay clients are individuals or families who choose to pay for adult family home care out of pocket. This option often provides more immediate placement flexibility and personalized arrangements. Our private rates are determined by client assessments and care plans. Calls us directly for all questions about private pay.
Regardless of payment type, all residents at Newmann-Godful AFH receive the same standard of dignity, respect, and professional care.
How to Apply for Medicaid Placement
If you or your loved one would like to move into our adult family home using Medicaid, here are the typical steps:
Step 1: Confirm Medicaid Long-Term Care Eligibility
To qualify for Medicaid-funded adult family home services, the individual must meet financial and care-related eligibility requirements.
You can begin by contacting: visiting www.washingtonconnection.org to complete an application.
Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS), Your local Home & Community Services (HCS) office
They will guide you through the eligibility process.
Step 2: Complete a Care Needs Assessment
A state case manager will schedule an assessment to determine the level of care needed. This includes evaluating:
Mobility and daily living support, Medical conditions, Cognitive or memory care needs, Safety supervision requirements. This assessment helps determine the appropriate care setting.
Step 3: Receive a Medicaid Authorization and Care Plan
Once approved, Medicaid will create a care plan and authorize placement in an adult family home that meets the resident’s needs. A case manager will assist with matching the resident to an available provider home.
Step 4: Contact Newmann-Godful AFH for Availability
Families or case managers may contact us directly to inquire about openings and to schedule a tour.
We will discuss:
Care needs and preferences, Room availability, Resident compatibility and comfort, Next steps for admission.
Step 5: Admission and Move-In Coordination
Once placement is approved, we coordinate a smooth transition into our home, including:
Reviewing medical and care documentation, finalizing the service agreement, and preparing for move-in day, Welcoming the resident into a safe, supportive environment.
Private Pay Admission Process
Private-pay admissions are often faster and include these steps:
